Welcome
I’m Paul (he/him), a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Manchester. I specialise in supporting LGBTQ+ people, and provide inclusive, affirming therapy for clients of all identities and backgrounds.
If you are experiencing issues like anxiety, relationship challenges, low self-esteem, and identity questioning, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space to explore what matters most to you.
About me
I have experience working with people across the LGBTQIA+ community, supporters and allies through counselling at the LGBT Foundation and mentoring young people at The Proud Trust.
Many of the people I’ve worked with are dealing with things like identity, shame, anxiety, depression, difference, trauma, and the exhaustion and uncertainty that comes from navigating society’s expectations. If any of that resonates, you are not alone.

Why I do what I do
I bring both lived and professional experience. As a gay man who also lives with a disability, I know what it’s like to feel different and to internalise the idea that you are the problem. You are not. Society can project a lot onto us.
Therapy is a place where we can gently unpick that and start seeing things more clearly.

I offer person centred therapy, which means we go at your pace and follow what matters to you. My practice aims to help you build your self-esteem, nurture self-compassion and reduce anxiety. I also integrate some practical tools when they are helpful.
We can look at what’s going on now, make space for the past and figure out what might need to shift.
My sessions are thoughtful, honest and warm, and sometimes there is room for a laugh too.
