Flexible, confidential counselling you can access from anywhere in the UK

Online counselling
I'm Paul (he/him), a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Manchester, providing online therapy for adults across the UK.
If you’re dealing with anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, identity questions or something harder to put into words, online counselling creates a flexible and accessible way to access therapy.

Working online means you’re not limited by location. You can choose a therapist who feels right for you, not just the closest one.

Sessions take place over secure video and offer the same level of confidentiality, care and attention as face-to-face counselling.
What is online counselling?
Online counselling (also known as online therapy or video therapy) takes place over secure video, allowing us to meet face-to-face wherever you are in the UK.

Sessions last 50 minutes and work in much the same way as in-person therapy. It’s a space to talk, reflect and make sense of things at your own pace.

You’ll need:

-
A quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted or overheard
-
A stable internet connection
-
A device with a camera and audio

Why choose online counselling?
There are a number of benefits to working this way:

-
It fits around your life. Online therapy can be easier to fit around work, routines and other commitments, without the need to travel

-
You can access therapy from anywhere in the UK. Whether you’re at home, travelling, or living somewhere without local services, online counselling keeps things consistent.

-
You can work with the right therapist for you. You’re not restricted to your local area, which means you can find someone you feel comfortable with.

-
You’re already in your own space. If a session feels difficult or emotional, you’re already somewhere familiar where you can take care of yourself afterwards.

-
Greater consistency and fewer missed sessions. Without travel or logistics to manage, it can be easier to attend sessions regularly and stay engaged in the process.

-
Continuity if your circumstances change. If you move, travel, or your routine shifts, your therapy doesn’t have to stop.

-
It can feel easier to open up. Some people find it more comfortable to talk from their own environment, especially at the beginning.

-
Reduced anxiety around attending therapy. No waiting rooms, no commuting, and no need to navigate unfamiliar spaces.
How I work
My approach is grounded in person-centred therapy. That means I won’t analyse you or tell you what to do. Instead, I offer a space where you can explore your thoughts and experiences openly, at your own pace.

I aim to be warm, honest and down to earth. Therapy doesn’t have to feel clinical or distant. It’s a conversation, but one held with care, attention and intention.

I have a particular interest in working with identity, difference and belonging, including LGBTQ+ experiences. You don’t need to come with a specific label or issue.
