Online counselling

I’m Paul (he/him), an online therapist based in Manchester, offering counselling for adults across the UK.

You may be feeling anxious or low, having a difficult time in your relationships or struggling to make sense of how you feel. Online counselling gives you somewhere private to talk, without being limited to therapists in your local area.

Sessions take place over secure video and offer the same care, attention and confidentiality as face-to-face counselling.

What online counselling is like

Online counselling (also known as online therapy or video therapy) takes place over secure video, allowing us to meet face-to-face wherever you are in the UK.

Sessions last 50 minutes. You’ll need a private space, a stable internet connection and a device with a camera and audio.

You may find it easier to talk from your own surroundings, especially when counselling is new to you. There is no journey or waiting room, and you can take some time for yourself after the session.

Why choose online therapy?

Online counselling can fit more easily around work, caring responsibilities or a changing routine. You can continue with the same therapist if you move or travel, and you have a wider choice than the therapists based near you.

Some people also feel more at ease speaking from home. You are already somewhere familiar if the session leaves you needing a little time afterwards.

How it works

What counselling with me is like

My approach is person-centred, which means I work with you rather than following a set formula. I’ll listen closely, ask questions and reflect on what I’m hearing. Sometimes I may gently challenge something if I think it could be helpful.

How active I am will depend on you and what seems most useful at the time.

I have particular experience supporting LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients, as well as people who have often felt different or misunderstood.

Practical details

All counselling sessions are held online using video call, so you can attend from wherever feels most comfortable and private for you.

Sessions last 50 minutes

My standard fee is £60 per session

Weekly sessions are recommended, but we can discuss what works best for you
